"This Guide consists of twenty-three hand selected routes that highlight the rivers, streams and overlooks of the Duluth area.
 

    How to use this Guide

 

Before starting, download the Acrobat PDF Reader and Strava apps to your phone. 

 

1. Click on the Maps page to get an overview of the routes

2. Go to the following websites to find out current trail conditions: Trail Status — Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores (coggs.com), Current Trail Conditions -Superior Hiking Trail in MN, Jay Cooke State Park | Minnesota DNR, Pattison State Park | Wisconsin DNR

 

3.Select one route below and press the PDF link to open the complete description of the route.  Once open you can bookmark the route to your phone. 
 

4. If you are going to hike that route you can click on the blue Strava link at the bottom of the information sheet.  The Strava map for that route will open and you can follow the route in real time.  The route will be orange and your path will be blue. Safety First: Always be careful on the route.  There are ledges, streets and roads to cross or walk on.  Watch carefully when crossing and walk against traffic when on a street or road. Follow all rules for Lake Superior Hiking Trails, COGGS multiuse trails, and state parks.
